World Conference on Ecological Restoration; Society for Ecological Restoration

The Call for Abstracts for the 11th World Conference on Ecological Restoration (SER2025) is open! Submit your abstract by 30 January 2025. Early-bird registration begins on 15 January 2025, so mark your calendar and visit the conference website for detailed travel and visa requirement information.

Call for Abstracts

The Scientific Program Committee is now inviting abstracts for presentations at SER2025. This call is open for oral presentations, lightning talks, and poster presentations. All presentations at SER2025 are expected to be in person in Denver. However, virtual poster presentations will be considered. The deadline for submission is 30 January 2025.   As we approach the midpoint of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, SER2025 will play a critical role in advancing and achieving important global restoration goals. Submissions related to one of the eight thematic series of the conference are invited. We encourage submissions from all ecosystems, and we especially encourage restoration practitioners to share their work. The eight thematic series are:

  • Improving restoration outcomes through collaboration
  • Intergenerational partnerships for building restoration action on the ground
  • Recognizing your roots, looking forward for the future
  • Raising the bar on restoration success
  • Improving quality of actions rather than quantity
  • Restoration in my backyard – urban context
  • From Commitment to action on global targets
  • Restoration and One Health Mobilizing Restoration through Art and Culture

Registration

Early-bird registration will open on 15 January 2025. To stay in the loop for all SER2025 updates and to take advantage of early registration rates, please visit the official conference website. SER members always receive the best rate on registration. Join or Renew your SER membership, and learn more about membership benefits.   Additionally, The Society for Ecological Restoration will once again offer an Open Doors Awards Program for SER2025. This program provides need-based travel support and a conference registration waiver. Applications will open in mid-December 2025.
