NOAA Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research
Description: NCCOS' Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research (CCEHBR) has laboratories in Charleston, South Carolina and Oxford, Maryland. The Center conducts environmental research and develops diagnostic tools to measure coastal ecosystem health.
Chemical, biomolecular, microbiological, ecological, toxicological and histological methods are developed and used in both laboratory and field studies to describe, evaluate, and predict the controlling factors and outcomes of natural and anthropogenic influences in marine and estuarine habitats.

Mission Statement: CCEHBR's mission is to conduct integrated environmental research and develop diagnostic tools to measure coastal ecosystem health.
CCEHBR's research is based on the NCCOS Strategic Plan and links, where mutually beneficial, with collaborators and partners throughout NOAA, with academic institutes, state and federal agencies, and the international scientific community.
Partnering, in its broadest sense, is a very strong and integral part of NCCOS and CCEHBR's research planning, and implementation.
