Coastal Georgia Colloquium 2006
Wednesday October 18th
Coastal Georgia Center (Auditorium)
305 Fahm St., Savannah, Georgia
Summary
Fifty-six of Georgia’s coastal resource managers and scientists gathered in Savannah for the second Coastal Georgia Colloquium. Ten academic units and nine government agencies were represented. After Merryl Alber welcomed the group, overviews of the Coastal Management Program (GA-DNR Coastal Resources Division) and Georgia Sea Grant were given. Twenty-five participants gave brief presentations introducing themselves and their coastal Georgia work. Eighteen project summaries were also presented. At the end of the day there was a discussion of scientific needs and how future Colloquia (or other GCRC activities) might best serve to connect resource managers and academic researchers.
